MER: Spirit update.

The MER, Spirit, went up to Mars in search of evidence that water once flowed freely on the planet's surface. It found a bug. A bug that it brought with it. Well, maybe not the living kind of bug, but due to a 'bug' in the onboard software the little rover has been struggling to stay awake without rebooting again, and again, and again, and again...It does cause us to question though, if the rover finds very, very small traces of elements, that other missions haven't identified, could it be detecting things it brought from Earth?
Oh, and by the way, Spirit's sibling, Opportunity has landed and is functioning nominally (which means working good).

(March 2004 -- since the original writting of this note the episode of the Mar's 'bunny' is one of those items that caused a stir when discovered but turned out to be something from the lander itself.)
